Q: Why isn't the Online Edition free?
A:
The Courier Global Route offers numerous benefits over any free newspaper online offering, including:
- Access to the entire paper, including classifieds, obituaries, etc.
- The ability to view an Online Edition that is identical to the printed paper
- Fully keyword searchable newspapers
- Access to archived newspapers
- Instant anytime/anywhere access to the published paper
If you would like to experience some of the features of the online subscription, please press the "Demo" button on the Online Edition login page. We facilitate the delivery of the Online Edition, but the cost of the online subscription is determined by each publisher. If you still have concerns over the cost of the Online Edition, please contact the publisher.
Q: When will the most recent edition be published online?
A:
We usually will have a newspaper published online within one hour of receiving from the publisher. We are constantly working with the publishers to improve upload times. If you are not seeing a newspaper online within a reasonable amount of time, please let us know by e-mailing the help desk from the Online Edition login screen or inside the interface and we will work with the publisher to correct the situation.
Q: I currently subscribe to the printed edition. Do I get get a discount to the Online Edition?
A:
We offer each publisher the option of selling the Online Edition at a discounted rate to current print edition subscribers. However, the publisher determines the pricing of the online edition and may not choose to offer this option. You will need to contact your publisher to determine if a discounted rate is offered.
Q: How far back can I search in the Online Edition?
A:
This varies by publisher. Most publishers only offer the last 90 days worth of contents for the standard subscription. Many also offer an archive subscription that may allow you to search back through the last few years or all the way back to the early 1900's. Once again, this varies by publisher and you can see what a specific publisher offers on their new subscription page.
Q: How can I find a specific date in the Online Edition?
A: Open the "All Dates Available" drop-down box and choose "Custom Dates". Set the date you would like and then either add it to the menu or search right from the Custom Dates bar. Leave the search terms empty and you will get that entire issue. From there, you should be able to browse to the page you are looking for.
